My Recommended Reading List: Part 1

 My Bloggerites old and new: greetings.  At the behest of several of my friends I've decided to create a list of books I'd recommend to you all.  In the spirit of generosity, I'll also include a list of the books I'm currently reading and rereading so you can know what books may show up on the next list.  I won't include a synopsis for all the books, which is why I included the link to the books Amazon page which has a pretty good summary.

Books You Should Read ASAP (In order):

1.       Come to Papa: Encountering the Father that Jesus Knew - Gary Weins (Read it this past semester, changed my life.  Must read)

a.       Waking the Dead: The Glory of a Heart Fully Alive - John Eldredge (Read above)

b.      Beautiful Outlaw: Experiencing the Playful, Disruptive, Extravagant Personality of Jesus - John Eldredge  (Completely changed how I read the Gospels).

2.       When Heaven Invades Earth: A Practical Guide to Miracles - Bill Johnson (2 chapters in and its blowing my mind.)

a.       Destined to Reign - Joseph Prince  (When I first read it, flipped my entire outlook upside down).

b.    "I Was Framed!" Signed, God -  Doug Webb  (Yes, this was written by my Dad. Yes, I could be bias.  That being said, this book is based on a bible study my Dad did with the fam when I was 17ish and it the information in this book ( and its coming sequels) started me on the path to discovering the heart of God towards me.)

Books You Should Read (In no particular order; I’ll have the topic in parentheses)

·         Unmerited Favor - Joseph Prince  (Tis the only book on this list I haven't read but it's highly recommended by people I trust so I included it.)

·         Supernatural Ways of Royalty - Kris Vallotton (Solid Read)

·         The Future War of the Church - Chuck Pierce and Rebecca Sytsema (

·         Red Moon Rising - Pete Greig 

·         Authority in Three Worlds -  Charles Capps (Read it 4+ years ago and its about time for a reread.  I didn't fully comprehend the magnitude of this book at the time but its a game changer.)

·         Heaven: Close Encounters of the God Kind - Jesse Duplantis

·         Sheparding a Child’s Heart -  Ted Tripp

·         Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul - John Eldredge  (Upon first reading it really spoke to me. I'd read this in conjunction with Fathered by God.)

·         Epic: The Story God is Telling  - John Eldredge (Short and Sweet a quick read but a helpful reminder of the setting of our story).

·         Fathered by God: Learning What Your Dad Could Never Teach You  - John Eldredge 

·         Mere Christianity - C.S. Lewis

·         This Present Darkness - Frank Peretti (This is fiction but I find its presentation of spiritual warfare to be very thought provoking. Plus its great fiction . I'd read it after Territorial Spirits).

·         Piercing the Darkness - Frank Peretti  (The sequel).

·         Territorial Spirits - C. Peter Wagner  (My intro into Spiritual Warfare, the stories in this book will change the way you view the world.)

·         Warfare Prayer -  C. Peter Wagner  (The sequel to Territorial Spirits)

Quick Note: I read multiple books at the same time, hence the two lists.  I usually take notes for both the initial reading and the subsequent rereading, so I can see what hidden gems I missed the first time.
